Over the last few months, Williams & Humbert has receiveda number of awards in the US. In the latest edition of the 'San Francisco World Spirits Competition' which took place last April, its Solera Gran Reserva Gran Duque de Alba brandy, Dos Maderas 5+3 rum and the Crema de Alba won the gold, silver and bronze prizes respectively. A competition in which a total of 800 brands from 63 counties took part. Furthermore, its Dos Maderas 5+3 rum won another medal in the ‘International Rum Festival’ which was also held in San Francisco.
In May, Gran Duque de Alba won yet another gold. This time it was in Chicago at the 'International Review of Spirits Competition', one of the world’s most influential and respected events in this sector. Over the course of a year, expert tasters from the ‘Beverage Testing Institute’, together with a group of guests who are sector professionals, carry out blind tastings. Gran Duque de Alba was qualified as "exceptional", gaining the highest store in its category.
More recently in June, the prestigious critic and US sommelier Paul Pacult, in his book 'Kindred Spirits 2' placed Gran Duque de Alba in position number 32 on his list of '111 best spirits', calling it "one of the world’s most outstanding liquors". He also included it in his list of the hundred best wines and spirits, a list he creates every year for the prestigious 'Wine Enthusiast' magazine, awarding it 96 points out of 100. This magazine, together with 'Wine Spectator', are the most influential journals about spirits in the US.
These trophies recognise the quality of Williams & Humbert products, a firm that has been receiving the industry’s most important accolades for over 130 years. In addition, these latest awards give the brand a big boost towards consolidating its positioning in the US market.
